Michael, praying to Mary is a striking phenomenon in the Roman Catholic Church, striking to us Protestants. So from the 500 to 1500 or so there was for various reasons a tragic decline in the knowledge of God. And so the cult of Anne began, Anne being the mother of Mary.Even in the most recent Catechism, the Vatican continues to spell out the value and importance of liturgies and feasts and prayers dedicated to Mary. And if you read the story of Martin Luther you see this time when he is a young man, a law student and he is knocked to the ground by a lightning bold. And Luther had never up to that age dared pray to God himself.
It is not really a necessity, but the most appropriate manner of dealing with creatures that are at the same time spiritual and corporeal.
Worse still, both these church fight with protestants that you must use their oral tradition but the Orthodox and Catholic oral traditions DIFFER WITH EACH OTHER!!!
IF ORAL TRADITION IS AUTHORTATIVE, HOW ARE OUTSIDERS SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHICH OF THESE TWO ORAL TRADITIONS IS CORRECT?
The Catholic Church does not permit divorce for valid sacramental marriages.
So for a marriage that meets the requirements of being a sacrament, divorce in the Catholic Church is not possible.
